Power of Nursing – What faculty say

Course directors have found that the course has had a profound effect on their teaching. The following is a sampling of nursing faculty comments from those who attended our 2015 and 2014 Faculty Development Workshop Trainings:

  • “The course enabled me to get back in touch with a side of myself that strives to view students as whole people.”
  • “I don’t think there is any part of this course that won’t be useful professionally.”
  • “As a teacher, I learned about the value of sharing personal experiences with students.”
  • “The course enlightened me about my calling and my sense of purpose.”
  • “I realized that I have the commitment to serve my learners, and the sensitivity and heart to recognize their individualism.”
  • “I realized that we are connected to one another despite our different backgrounds and education.”
  • “We are all wearing masks. We all can take the masks off with the safety, grace and support of others. It was wonderful to see the group grow, emerge, flow, relax into one another.”
  • “I appreciated the reminders to trust the process, allowing the learning to unfold.”
  • “For years I have struggled with how to help students to integrate their personal and professional halves. This helps me and them and will alter how I approach my work.”
